Who we are

This website is operated by ZENO-Indices S.A., a company incorporated in Belgium and a spin-off from HEC Liège (Université de Liège). ZENO-Indices S.A. is the data controller for the processing described on this page. You can reach us at contact@zeno-indices.com.

What we collect on this website

This website does not include account creation, forms, or payment features. The only personal data processed through the site itself relates to two situations:

  • Analytics (with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived on the site. IP anonymization is enabled and analytics is disabled by default until you consent.
  • Email contact. If you write to us, we process your name, email address, and the content of your message to respond to your request.

Cookies and similar technologies

Until you make a choice in the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are set. The site uses the following:

  • zeno_cookie_consent (local storage, kept until you clear it): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice.
  • _ga and related Google Analytics cookies (set only after you accept, kept up to 13 months): distinguish visitors and measure site usage in aggregate.

You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page, or by clearing your browser storage for this site.

Why we process this data and on what legal basis

  • Analytics: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Responding to your messages: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries from prospective clients and partners (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or steps prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Who receives the data

Analytics data is processed on our behalf by Google Ireland Limited under the Google Analytics terms. Google may transfer data outside the European Economic Area; such transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

  • Analytics data: up to 14 months, the retention period configured in Google Analytics.
  • Email correspondence: for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up business relationship, after which it is deleted or archived in line with legal obligations.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@zeno-indices.com.

If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit) at www.dataprotectionauthority.be, or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the website or applicable rules evolve. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected in the cookie banner where relevant.
